Landmark move for city law firm –

It’s the end of an era for law firm Edwards Geldard.
It is preparing to move from its Ropewalk offices in Nottingham to the Arc, a prestigious office development at NG².

The move represents a £4m investment by the practice.
Edwards Geldard closes its offices in Ropewalk on October 14 and unveils its new home next Monday.

East Midlands senior partner David Williams said: “This marks a substantial investment for the firm – one which further reinforces our commitment to serve Nottingham’s business community.

“Over the past ten years we have created a major presence in the East Midlands and we’re excited about the prospects for the future.

“We’ve now outgrown our existing offices as a result of a rapidly increasing workload and we feel this prestigious new location helps to reflect our reputation and position in the market place.”

The company employs more than 100 staff in Nottingham and expects to recruit more staff after the move.

Mr Williams added: “We firmly believe that having a key base in Nottingham is crucially important and NG2 offers us tremendous potential.

“It’s set to become a flagship business location a few minutes from the city centre but with rapid access to key routes like the M1.”
The firm is also planning to adopt Limited Liability Partnership status next month – a move which will coincide with a name change to Geldards LLP.
